Tips For Caregivers

When interacting with clients and loved ones

When approaching a participant to engage in a program

  1. Invite them to participate as if you were inviting them to a friendly gathering.
  2. If they refuse, be prepared to offer them an activity that is something familiar to them. Example- "I have a project about baseball that I think you will have fun with. I know you love baseball and I can really use your help. (This sounds better than, We're doing a poem on baseball today."
  3. Keep your questions short and to yes and no answers.
