A PROGRAM TO ASSIST IN RECALLING MEMORIES

The program is performed by a facilitator using a conversational format, in a circle, so all participants can interact, face to face, with one another. The goal is to use a multi-sensory presentation that will inspire participants to remember and share their own memories.

CREATING A THEME FOR YOUR PROGRAM

Once you read over the layout for this multi-sensory program you will be introduced to creating a rhythm for the presentation. The idea of the term, rhythm, used refers to the overall pattern and sequence on how to present each component of the program.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR PARTICIPANT(S), ACTIVE VERSES PASSIVE

Clients are all different when you are providing care, and so are participants when you are doing programming. Some are more independently active, in participating while some need more cueing and assistance. Some clients are passive and may appear less engaged, but they are still benefiting from the overall process.

How will you know this?
